A failure of the electricity supply between Rutherglen and Cambuslang means that all lines running between these stations are closed.

As a result, trains running between Newton (Lanark) and Glasgow Central may be cancelled, delayed by up to 30 minutes or revised.

Disruption is expected until 18:00.

Customer advice:

A shuttle service will operate between Newton (Lanark) and Larkhall via Motherwell.

You can use your ticket to travel on the following alternative routes at no extra cost:

  • Glasgow Central to Newton via Kings Park
  • Glasgow to Edinburgh via Falkirk High
  • Glasgow Queen Street to Falkirk Grahamston

Rail replacement transport has been confirmed to operate between Milngavie and Cambuslang from approximately 15:00. Please see station staff for further details.

If you have had to drive to another station your ticket will be valid to collect your car on your return journey. Speak to a member of staff to validate your ticket.
