A fault with the signalling system at Newark Castle means that trains are unable to run between Newark Castle and Lincoln. Services will be cancelled or delayed by up to 60 minutes.

What has happened? There is a fault with the signalling system at Newark Flat Crossing. This is between Newark Castle and Lincoln and is affecting trains on the Leicester / Lincoln / Grimsby and Crewe- Newark Castle routes.

Trains on the Newark Northgate to Lincoln route are not affected. At present we are awaiting further updates from Network Rail in relation to what the issue is and how long this will take to fix. How does this affect my train? Trains running through the area in both directions cannot run between Newak Castle and Lincoln on our Leicester / Lincoln / Grimsby route. Trains are stood on the line waiting for it to open which is blocking the railway for trains through the area in the Newark Castle direction on our Crewe - Newark Castle route. Lincoln to Newark Northgate trains on are not affected by this problem and will run normally, this is because the signalling system is working correctly on the line needed for this route. At present we are expecting the problem to be fixed in the next three hours. As soon as the problem is fixed our priority will be to get trains running to their advertised times again. We expect our advertised timetable to resume on the affected routes by 19:30. How do I get where I need to be?
