Due to the unavailability of signalling staff at Harrow-on-the-Hill, there will be an early closure of the London Underground Metropolitan Line service this evening. This will impact late night Chiltern Railways services that run over the Metropolitan Line tracks (via Amersham). Disruption will begin at approximately 21:00 and continue until the end of service.
Chiltern Railways service changes:
Trains from London Marylebone:
The last through train from London Marylebone to Aylesbury Vale Parkway (via Amersham) will be the 21:57 service from London Marylebone. The 22:57 and 23:57 services from London Marylebone will not run from London Marylebone but will instead start from Amersham, leaving at 23:32 and 00:32 (Sat).
Passengers for Amersham and Great Missenden who cannot complete their journey on an earlier train should travel by train to High Wycombe from where taxis will be arranged.
Passengers for Wendover and Stoke Mandeville who are impacted by the cancellations should travel to Aylesbury direct (on a via High Wycombe service). Taxis will then be arranged from Aylesbury.
Trains towards London Marylebone:
The last Southbound train to run through from Aylesbury to London Marylebone (via Amersham) will be the 21:48 departure from Aylesbury.
The last Southbound train of the evening (the 22:48 departure from Aylesbury) will terminate at Amersham. Passengers on this train who wish to travel beyond Amersham are warned that it may not be possible to complete their journey as London Underground will be running a combination of trains (as far as Rickmansworth) and buses.
The last train from Aylesbury to London Marylebone (via High Wycombe) leaves Aylesbury at 23:16.
London Underground:
London Underground services between Baker Street and Rickmansworth will start to wind down from 21:00. No services whatsoever will be able to run at all over this stretch of line from 23:00, as the signal box at Harrow-on-the-Hill will have closed.
