A fault with the signalling system between Newhaven Town and Seaford means all lines are blocked.

Trains between Brighton and Seaford will be revised to terminate / start back at Newhaven Harbour.

Bishopstone and Seaford will not be served.

Disruption is expected until 16:30.

Customer advice:

Services are unable to / from Seaford, due to a fault with the signalling system.

Services will terminate and restart at Newhaven Harbour instead. Seaford and Bishopstone will have no services stopping there until further notice.

If you are travelling to Seaford or Bishopstone, you should alight at Newhaven Town and use Brighton & Hove Buses from there to Seaford.

If you are travelling from Seaford or Bishopstone, you should use Brighton & Hove Buses to get to Newhaven Town and then board a train from there.

Please note that if transferring between bus / rail services you should change at Newhaven Town, not Newhaven Harbour.

Alternatively you can use Brighton & Hove bus routes 12 / 12A / 12X between Brighton, Newhaven, Seaford and Eastbourne should you wish to not change for a train. Tickets will be accepted on these for no extra cost.

Can you tell me more about the incident?

A fault with the signalling system means that trains cannot run to / from Seaford. Network Rail teams have been requested to attend and are expected to be on site by 16:00. We'll provide further updates as we get them.
