A fallen tree is blocking the railway between Lewes and Brighton. As a result, services running between these stations may be delayed or diverted via Haywards Heath.

Trains will be diverted between Lewes and Brighton until further notice. They will run via Haywards Heath and then fast to Brighton. Trains between Brighton and Lewes are unaffected at this time.
If you are at one of the following stations and you need to go to Brighton you should take a train to Lewes and catch one of the services that will be diverted via Haywards Heath.
- Falmer
- Mouslecoomb
- London Road (Brighton)
If you need one of the above stations and are travelling from the direction of Lewes, carry on through to Brighton and catch a return service.
Ticket acceptance
Your ticket will be accepted on the following, at no extra cost:
- Brighton and Hove buses on routes
- 28 for Brighton (St Peterâs Church), Moulsecoomb (Brighton University), Falmer, Lewes (Post Office / Law Courts), Polegate, and Eastbourne
- 29, 29B, 29X for Brighton (St Peterâs Church), Moulsecoomb (Brighton University), Falmer, Lewes (Post Office / Law Courts) and Uckfield

We have reports of a tree blocking the line between Lewes and Brighton. Network Rail staff will be attending to remove the tree as quickly as they can. Unfortunately, it's not possible to try to run trains past this. We are closely monitoring progress updates.
