A broken down train at Ely means that the line between Ely and Norwich is currently disrupted. As a result, train journeys may be cancelled, delayed or altered.

Disruption is expected until 15:15.

East Midlands Railway customer advice:

A fault on a train at Ely North Junction between Ely and Norwich is disrupting East Midlands Railway trains on the Liverpool Lime Street / Nottingham / Norwich routes. On-board teams are working with our maintenance teams to try and rectify the fault. Additional teams are required to attend to the broken down train. Currently, East Midlands Railway do not have an expected time for when the additional team are due to arrive on site.

How does this affect my train? Trains running through the area in both directions cannot operate between Ely and Norwich. There is congestion in the area and some East Midlands Railway services may be altered at short notice to reduce the delays and congestion.

Currently, there is no estimate for when the problem will be fixed. As soon as the problem is fixed, the priority will be to get trains running to their advertised times again. Trains are expected to be altered and cancelled so please make sure to check your journey before you travel and expect delays. A rail replacement coach is expected to arrive at Ely at 14:15 and will call at Manea, March, Whittlesea and Peterborough.
