The broken down train at Hampden Park has now moved out the way. Trains between Eastbourne and Lewes are retuning to normal but may still be cancelled or delayed.
This is expected until 12:00.
Customer Advice:
There will still be some delays and alterations taking place for services that were held up due to the incident, so please check journey planners before departure if possible, and allow extra time to complete your journey.
Can you tell me more about the incident?
When a train fault occurs, the driver will contact train technicians and will be guided through a 10 minute repair process. If they are unable to fix the fault, the train will be terminated and taken out of passenger service and returned to the depot for full safety investigation and repairs. This is likely to have an immediate knock on effect, particularly in busy locations across the network, as well as on later services in the day.
