A safety inspection of the track between East Croydon and Gatwick Airport means trains have to run at reduced speed on some lines towards Brighton and the coast .

Train services running through these stations may be delayed by up to 10 minutes. Disruption is expected until 17:00.

Customer Advice

Southern, Thameslink and Gatwick Express trains may be delayed by up to 10 minutes between East Croydon and Gatwick Airport. Safety checks of the track are required at Salfords, which is between these stations.

You can still use your normal route, but please leave extra time and be aware of the delays.

Following a report of a possible problem with the track, trains are running at a reduced speed of 20mph on one of the southbound lines through Salfords.

Network Rail engineers are attending to investigate any possible issues, and we are waiting for progress updates.
