A fault with the signalling system between Birmingham New Street and Walsall means trains may be delayed by up to 30 minutes, cancelled or revised.

Disruption is expected until 13:30.

Alternative travel advice

Tickets will be accepted on the following routes at no extra cost:

  • West Midlands Railway between Birmingham New Street and Lichfield Trent Valley. Passengers travelling to/from Duddeston and Aston can use the CrossCity line towards Birmingham, if this is not affected.
  • CrossCountry between Birmingham New Street and Tamworth / Nuneaton
  • London Northwestern Railway between Birmingham New Street - Wolverhampton - Stafford - Rugby, and also between Stafford - Rugeley Trent Valley - Rugby
  • National Express West Midlands on routes 4, 4H, 4M, 6, 7, 9, 10A, 11A, 16, 19, 28, 31, 32, 33, 45, 52, 54, 54A, 60, 65, 67, 69, 70, 77, 529, 825, 829, 907, 934, 935, 997 and X51

Replacement buses have been requested. We will provide further information once more is known.
