A safety inspection of the track at South Croydon means soem lines are blocked. As a result, trains towards East Croydon may be delayed.

The slow/stopping line can not be used until further notice, so trains will have to run via alternative lines. However, as fewer lines are available for trains to use, delays are to be expected.

Can you tell me more about the incident?
Network Rail have advised of a potential track defect in the South Croydon area on one of the lines used by London bound services. One of the trains which was using a different line, has examined the affected area and believed the issue could be a broken rail. Therefore, for safety reasons, until the line has been inspected by Network Rail specialist engineers, trains will be diverted around the problem.
