A speed restriction over a defective track means trains have to run at a reduced speed between Stevenage and Welwyn Garden City. Trains running between between Stevenage and London Kings Cross may be delayed by up to 10 minutes as a result.
We expect this to continue until 07:30.

A speed restriction is in effect in the area, affecting journeys towards Welwyn, and London.
Services from Peterborough, Ely / Kings Lynn will instead run via the Hertford route.
Please note, there is a secondary issue, a track circuit failure, also affecting London bound services in the Welham Green area.
We currently anticipate delays of up to 10 minutes, but this estimate will likely change as more trains enter service.
Network Rail colleagues are working on resolving the track defect issue as quickly as possible, and we will update you as we receive more information.
