A safety inspection of the track at Arlesey means trains are having to run at a reduced speed towards Peterborough. As a result trains running between Hitchin and Peterborough via Arlesey may be delayed by up to 15 minutes.
This is expected until 18:00.

Shortly after 15:00 today reports were received that there was a possible track defect near Arlesey, on one of the Peterborough bound lines. As a safety precaution, trains are currently running at a reduced speed of 209mph over the affected section, and engineers from Network Rail are en route to investigate.
As a result, Peterborough bound trains are being delayed passing through the area.
