Following heavy rain flooding the railway. the line is closed between Derby and Stoke-on-Trent. Trains are currently unable to run between these stations.

What has happened?
Heavy rain has flooded the railway at Meir Tunnel. This is between Derby and Stoke-on-Trent and is disrupting trains on the Newark Castle / Derby / Crewe route.
The lines are currently closed, a team are due on site at 13:00 to assess the water levels.
How does this affect my train?
Trains are unable to run in both directions between Derby and Stoke-on-Trent, until the lines reopen.
At present we are expecting the problem to be fixed in the next 3 hours. As soon as the problem is fixed the priority will be to get trains running to their advertised times again. We expect the advertised timetable to resume on the affected routes by 15:00.
How do I get where I need to be?
East Midlands Railway have rail replacement buses running in both directions between Derby and Stoke-on-Trent, these have been added to the online journey planners.
You are able to use your tickets to travel with London Northwestern Railway between Stoke-on-Trent and Crewe, in both directions.
