Engineering work is taking place in various locations between Carlisle and Motherwell closing some lines.

Avanti West Coast

From 11:30 Saturday 9 and all day Sunday trains between London Euston / Birmingham and Glasgow Central / Edinburgh will run between London Euston and Lancaster / Carlisle only. A limited number of trains will be able to run between Carlisle and Glasgow Central via Dumfries. 

Buses will run in place of trains between Carlisle and Glasgow Central / Edinburgh

CrossCountry

Trains running between Glasgow Central and Edinburgh will divert via Shotts and will not call at Motherwell.

Buses will replace trains between Motherwell and Edinburgh. 

LNER

Sunday night and Monday morning LNER services between London Kings Cross and Glasgow Central will start / terminate at Edinburgh.

The following alteration will apply:

• Sunday 06:48 Glasgow Central to London Kings Cross will start at 08:00 from Edinburgh
• Monday 16:30 London Kings Cross to Glasgow Central will terminate at Edinburgh 21:14

ScotRail

It is not yet known how this will affect ScotRail.

Transpennine Express

From mid morning Saturday 9 and all day Sunday train running between Manchester Airport and Scotland, and between Liverpool Lime Street and Glasgow will start / terminate at Carlisle.

Buses will run between Carlisle and Edinburgh calling at Lockerbie.

Buses will run between Carlisle and Glasgow calling at Lockerbie. Buses will not call at Motherwell, alternative train services will be available between Glasgow Central and Motherwell.
