Engineering work is taking place at various location between Wigan North Western and Blackpool North / Blackpool South / Barrow-in-Furness / Morecambe / Windermere , closing various lines on different days between Saturday and Monday.

The following alterations will apply on the over the following routes:

Barrow-in-Furness

  • Saturday and Monday - Trains will only run between Preston and Barrow-in-Furness. Customers should use alternative trains between Manchester Airport and Preston
  • Sunday - Trains between Manchester Airport and Barrow-in-Furness will not run. The trains between Lancaster and Carlisle via Barrow-in-Furness will only run between Barrow-in-Furness and Carlisle.
  • Sunday - Replacement buses will run between Preston and Barrow-in-Furness. Customers should use alternative trains between Manchester Airport and Preston

 

Blackpool North (Manchester Airport)

  • Saturday / Sunday / Monday - Buses will replace trains between Buckshaw Parkway and Preston.

 

Blackpool North (Liverpool Lime Street)

  • Saturday / Sunday / Monday - Buses will replace trains between Wigan North Western and Preston.

 

Blackpool South

  • Saturday and Monday - Trains will be extended and will run between Blackburn and Blackpool South

 

Morecambe

  • Sunday - Buses will replace trains between Bentham and Morecambe

 

Windermere

  • Saturday and Monday - trains will run Lancaster and Windermere with some trains extended to run between Preston and Windermere.
  • Sunday - trains will only run between Oxenholme Lake District and Windermere. Supplementary buses will run between Oxenholme Lake District and Windermere
