York Student Television and Grand Central raise money for Children in Need
Grand Central helped out a group of York students recently by sponsoring a Children in Need fundraising event in London. The group raised a fantastic £90 for the charity and Grand Central provided free return travel for the ten team members.
This year, the Children in Need Appeal is taking place on Friday 18 November on BBC1. The charity’s vision is that every child in the UK has a childhood which is safe, happy and secure and allows them the chance to reach their potential.

The group spent the day completing challenges in the capital, raising money and filming the day for York Student Television, part of the York University Student’s Union. The teams spent from 11am - 6pm raising as much money as possible for Children in Need, as well as completing the following challenges:
- Visit as many places as possible featured on the London Monopoly board
- Collect a copy of the Evening Standard, bag a freebie from a top London attraction, film in an iconic London film location, fundraise on as many London bridges as possible, find a celebrity and take part in a street performance.
To watch the film of the challenge day, visit York Student Television from 20 November at www.ystv.co.uk/watch. YSTV broadcasts 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and shows both live and pre-recorded shows online at www.ystv.co.uk.
