Emergency services dealing with an incident between Newton-le-Willows and Manchester Victoria / Deansgate means all lines are blocked. Trains may be delayed by up to 60 minutes, cancelled or diverted.

Major disruption is expected until 13:00.

Northern

Tickets may be used on Metrolink between Manchester stations and Manchester Airport and Eccles.

Replacement buses will run as follows:

  • 1 Bus will depart Manchester Piccadilly 11:45 calling stops to Huyton operated by S Line
  • 1 Bus will depart Huyton 11:50 calling all stops to Manchester Piccadilly operated by Bestway
  • 1 Bus will depart Manchester Victoria 11:45 calling all stops to Chester operated by S Line
  • 1 Bus will depart Chester 12:10 calling all stops to Manchester Victoria operated by Bestway

TransPennine Express

Tickets will be accepted on the following routes:

  • Manchester Metrolink services between Manchester Piccadilly and Manchester Victoria
  • TransPennine Express services between Manchester Piccadilly and Liverpool Lime Street
  • East Midlands Railway services between Manchester Piccadilly and Liverpool Lime Street
  • Northern services between Manchester Piccadilly and Liverpool Lime Street
