Lines have reopened following a fault with the signalling system in the York area.
As normal service resumes, trains between York and Middlesbrough / Darlington may still be cancelled, delayed by up to 40 minutes or revised.
Disruption is expected until the end of the day.

Due to the severity of today's disruption and the number of cancellations and delayed services across the route, LNER are advising customers not to travel. Tickets for travel on Monday 17 March will be valid for use Tuesday 18 March.
