All lines have now reopened following a late running freight train at London Bridge earlier today.

Trains at London Bridge may still be cancelled, delayed or diverted between London Blackfriars and East Croydon.

Disruption is expected until the end of the day.

Customer Advice

Please leave extra time for your journey and use an alternative route.

Trains are also disrupted due to emergency repairs to the overhead wires at West Hampstead Thameslink, closing all lines at that location.

How is this currently affecting the train service?

A freight train (involved in engineering works) came to a stand for some time in the London Bridge area. This was occupying the line which is usually used by southbound Thameslink trains in the area. It's now on the move.

Can you tell me more about the incident?

Thameslink have been working with Network Rail to remove the freight train and get passenger services running. The freight train has now been sent to an alternative location.
