An earlier fault with the signalling system between Redhill and Coulsdon South means all lines are disrupted. As a result, trains may delayed by up to 20 minutes or revised. This is expected until 16:30.
Customer Advice
Some Southern and Thameslink services between Redhill and Merstham have been delayed by up to 10-20 minutes. Lines are now open, but please leave extra time for your journey. To reduce delays, some trains may call at fewer stations en route, so you may need to change trains more often to get to your destination. Please listen to announcements and check station screens whilst travelling. You can still use your normal route. Planning your journey: You can view a live map of the network here. Can you tell me more about the incident? Network Rail's response teams have needed to investigate a possible issue with one of the automatic safety systems which is part of the signalling equipment at Holmethorpe, between Redhill and Merstham. To do this, both lines through the area had to be closed, which led to some congestion. Southern & Thameslink will get back to their timetable as quickly as they can.
