There is a fault with the signalling system between Pontefract Monkhill and Knottingley, closing all lines between these stations.
This means that trains running between Leeds and Knottingley via both Wakefield and Castleford may be cancelled or delayed by up to 20 minutes.
This issue is expected to continue to affect services until 16:15.
