A fault on a train between Havant and Fratton is causing disruption to  journeys between these stations. Trains may be delayed or revised.

We anticipate that a normal service will resume by 22:00.

Customer Advice:

The 19:55 Littlehampton - Portsmouth & Southsea service is currently delayed at Hilsea. This is now preventing several other trains from running towards Portsmouth as well. This service will now need to terminate at Hilsea.

Please leave extra time for all journeys to and from the Portsmouth area.

Ticket acceptance:

If you prefer, you may use Stagecoach route 700 buses between Worthing and the Portsmouth area.

Southern and South Western Railway have mutual ticket acceptance in place for journeys in the area. This means you can use your ticket on services run by either operator.

Can you tell me more about the incident?

Fleet engineers are working to assist the train crew with the task of clearing the defect sufficiently to allow the train to move. The train will unfortunately need to be terminated at Hilsea, but this should help clear the line more quickly.
