A broken down train at Beckenham Junction is blocking the route used by Southern services to & from this station.

Trains which usually run from London Bridge to Beckenham Junction will terminate at Birkbeck, and return back towards London Bridge from there. 

This means you will need to use Trams to complete your journey between Birkbeck and Beckenham Junction. Your Southern ticket will be accepted at no extra cost on these services. 

Please leave around 20 minutes of extra time to do this. 

If you prefer, you may also use:

• Southeastern services between Beckenham Junction and the London area
• London Tram services to continue as far as East Croydon or West Croydon
• Alternative Southern or Thameslink services between East Croydon and London Bridge
• Alternative Southern services between West Croydon and Central London

Can you tell me more about the incident?

We have been advised that a train is unable to leave Beckenham Junction, blocking the platform used by Southern. This is due to the cable for one of the door exit mechanisms having snapped on the train, meaning the door cannot be secured. Engineers have been sent to repair the fault and get the train moving.
