All lines are blocked between Crayford and Hither Green due to a derailed train between these stations. Trains may be cancelled, delayed or revised. This is expected until 12:00.
What's happened?
A freight train derailed in the Lee Area last night half way as it crossed onto the spur to take it round towards Grove Park and the mainline.
Due to the location of the derailment some of the coaches are currently blocking the Sidcup line.
response staff are on-site but it is not expected to be re-railed and moved until at least 12:00 on Monday 13 September at present but this will depend on further updates from site.
How does this affect my journey?
Trains on the Sidcup line in both directions are unable to run at present, we are hoping that it may be possible to run a shuttle service to and from Sidcup via Bexleyheath but this will be known later this morning.
Trains on other metro routes listed below may also be disrupted.
Hayes: Trains to and from Hayes may be disrupted, due to crew and stock displacement.
Sevenoaks/Orpington: Trains between Sevenoaks/Orpington and London Charing Cross/Cannon Street may be disrupted due to crew and stock displacement
Bexleyheath: Trains on the Bexleyheath line will be busier, some services from the Sidcup line will be diverted to this route, which may cause additional delays.
Woolwich: Trains via Woolwich may be disrupted, due to crew and stock displacement.
