A fault with the signalling system in the Hackney Downs area is causing disruption to journeys between Cheshunt / Enfield Town / Chingford and London Liverpool Street. As a result, trains may be delayed by up to 15 minutes or diverted.

We have been made aware of a points failure between Tottenham Hale and Hackney Downs, blocking the line in this direction only. Points allow trains to move from one line to another, similar to using a slip road to join a motorway or to change lanes.

Routes affected:

• Stansted Express between Stansted Airport and London Liverpool Street
• Cambridge North - London Liverpool Street
• Hertford East – London Liverpool Street

Service Impact

Trains from Stansted Airport will divert from Tottenham Hale on a longer route to London Liverpool Street, and may be delayed.

Trains from Cambridge and Hertford East will run via Seven Sisters.
