There is a shortage of train crew available between Oxenholme Lake District and Windermere from approximately 18:30 today, which will close all lines running between these stations.

As a result, trains will be unable to operate, and will be cancelled.

This issue is expected to impact services from 18:30 through until the end of the day today.

Customer advice:

To help customers to complete their journey, road replacement transport will be provided as follows:

Transport will depart Oxenholme Lake District towards Windermere as follows:

  • A coach (operated by S Line) will depart Oxenholme Lake District at 18:30 and 21:20, calling at Kendal and Windermere only
  • A coach (operated by Bestway) will depart Oxenholme Lake District at 20:00 and 22:40, calling at Kendal and Windermere only
  • A 16 seater bus (operated by RSZ) will depart Oxenholme at 18:30, 20:00, 21:20 and 22:40, calling at all stations to Windermere

Transport will depart Windermere towards Oxenholme Lake District as follows:

  • A coach (operated by Bestway) will depart Windermere at 19:10 and 22:00, calling at Kendal and Oxenholme Lake District only
  • A coach (operated by S Line) will depart Windermere at 20:40, calling at Kendal and Oxenholme Lake District only
  • A 16 seater bus operated by RSZ will depart Windermere at 19:10, 20:40 and 22:00, calling at all stations to Oxenholme Lake District

Transport will depart Windermere towards Preston as follows:

  • A coach (operated by KT's Travel) will depart Windermere at 23:20, calling at Kendal, Oxenholme Lake District and Preston only
  • A 16 seater bus (operated by RSZ) will depart Windermere at 23:20, calling at all stations to Preston

Please note, journey times will be extended by up to 60 minutes when travelling using rail replacement transport.
