Hot weather warning - check before you travel
High temperatures are expected across parts of the UK from Monday 22nd June to Saturday 27th June. Please check your journey, including any connections with other operators, before you travel.
There are currently no timetable changes planned, so customers should travel on their booked Grand Central service. However, high temperatures can impact the railway and result in short-notice service alterations or cancellations.

Take extra precautions to stay safe and comfortable:
- Carry water with you.
- Wait for your train in the shade or a station waiting room.
- If you feel unwell at the station, please don't board a train speak to staff for help.
- If you start to feel unwell on a train, please speak to the on-board team.
Bedford incident
We are deeply saddened by the incident near Bedford involving East Midlands Railway services. Our thoughts are with all those affected, their families, and colleagues across the railway.
We fully support those responding to the situation and stand alongside our industry partners during this difficult time.
Disruption on the Midland Main Line is expected to continue throughout the weekend and into the week. We are accepting East Midlands Railway tickets until further notice.

- Amended 08:00 Bradford Interchange to London Kings Cross service on Sunday 28 June
Engineering work is taking place in the Wakefield Kirkgate area, closing some lines.
The 08:00 Bradford Interchange to London Kings Cross will divert via Wakefield Westgate, no longer calling at Low Moor, Halifax, Brighouse Mirfield and Wakefield Kirkgate. This service will call additionally at Wakefield Westgate. A rail replacement service will operate between Halifax and Wakefield Westgate calling at Brighouse and Mirfield, departing Halifax at 07:13.

- Delays between Kilwinning and Ardrossan Harbour / Largs
Trains can now run as scheduled between Kilwinning and Largs following the emergency services attending to an incident in the Ardrossan South Beach area.
- Reduced Windrush line service until the end of service
A shortage of train drivers on the Windrush line means that a reduced service is in operation. As a result, Windrush line services will be cancelled or revised.
Disruption is expected until the end of service.

- Industrial action to affect London Underground services on Tuesday 2 and Thursday 4 June
There is industrial action planned by the RMT union that will impact some London Underground services on Tuesday 2 and Thursday 4 June.
Some lines will have no service, and others will be part suspended, only running a portion of the normal route.
This will affect services for the entire day on both of the affected days. A normal service is expected to operate on the days either side of the planned industrial action.
Customer advice:
On both Tuesday 2 and Thursday 4 June, the following will apply:
- There will be no service on the Central line between White City and Liverpool Street
- There will be no service on the Circle line
- There will be no service on the Metropolitan line between Baker Street and Aldgate
- There will be no service on the Piccadilly line
Services are expected to run on all other London Underground lines. You are advised to check your journey in full before setting off as service levels will vary across the network. It is expected that services will start later and finish earlier than usual, and there will be limited services running on other routes before 06:30 each day.
You are advised to finish your journeys before 21:00 if you plan to travel using the London Underground network on either of the affected days.

Elizabeth line, Docklands Light Railway, London Overground, London Bus and London Trams services are all expected to operate as scheduled, but may be busier than usual.

- Disruption between Wakefield Westgate and Knottingley expected until the end of the day
A points failure between Wakefield Westgate and Knottingley means that some lines are blocked. Trains running between these stations may be cancelled or diverted.
Trains between Leeds and Knottingley via Wakefield Westgate will not call at Wakefield Westgate.
Disruption is expected until the end of the day.

Customers at Wakefield Westgate requiring stations to Knottingley should go via Leeds and use Wakefield Kirkgate station for onward connections.

- Arsenal victory parade: information for customers travelling in north London today
Arsenal's victory parade took place in London earlier today. This means that services in north London and the surrounding areas may still be busy with fans. Please plan ahead, and allow extra time for your journey.
Tube and rail services serving the area may still be busy, and trains may still be amended or subject to delays.
London has seen extremely high volumes of people today, with reports of lots of services being full and standing. If you are in London wanting to travel, you are advised that you may still have to wait to be able to board a train.
Drayton Park station will remain closed for the rest of the day today.

- Disruption between Sheffield and Barnsley / Moorthorpe / Doncaster until the end of the day
The emergency services are dealing with an incident between Sheffield and Barnsley / Moorthorpe / Doncaster. Whilst they do their work, all lines are closed. Trains running between these stations may be cancelled, delayed by up to 60 minutes or revised.

- Amendments to some late night Southeastern trains
Engineering work is taking place at various locations on the Southeastern network, closing some lines overnight from Monday to Thursday.Â

Mondays only:
Every Monday night, Network Rail carry out essential maintenance on the lines between Ashford International and Ramsgate via Canterbury West.
From 23:50 until the end of service, buses replace trains between Ashford International and Canterbury West / Ramsgate.Â
Mondays and Tuesdays:
Every Monday and Tuesday night, Network Rail carry out essential maintenance on the lines to and from London Charing Cross. Â
There will be no trains at London Charing Cross or London Waterloo East from approximately 23:30 until the end of service.Â
Trains will run from London Cannon Street instead, and you will need to travel to / from London Cannon Street / London Bridge.Â
Tuesdays only:
Every Tuesday night, Network Rail carry out essential maintenance on the lines between Faversham and Ramsgate via Margate. Â
From 23:30 until the end of service, buses replace trains between Faversham and Margate / Ramsgate.Â
Wednesdays and Thursdays:
Every Wednesday and Thursday night, Network Rail carry out essential maintenance on the lines to / from London Cannon Street.
There will be no trains at London Cannon Street from approximately 23:35 until the end of service.Â
Trains will run to / from London Charing Cross instead, if you could please make your way to London Bridge for these trains.Â

- Buses replace trains between Corkickle and Whitehaven until further notice
During pre-planned engineering work at Bransty Tunnel, between Corkickle and Whitehaven, inspections revealed unstable ground conditions which require urgent repair. As a result, the line through the tunnel is closed.
Customer advice:
Service impact
Train services are running between Lancaster / Barrow-in-Furness and Corkickle, and also between Whitehaven and Carlisle.
Buses will replace trains between Corkickle and Whitehaven.
Please speak to station staff, see online journey planners or consult customer information screens for departure times of these buses. Journey times may be extended by up to 60 minutes whilst travelling by road transport.
Ticket acceptance
If the train you have a ticket for is cancelled, you can travel on any Northern or TransPennine Express service within two hours before or after your cancelled service was due to depart. This is at no extra cost, and does not require you to amend your ticket.
Additional information:
At the end of July 2025, Network Rail carried out assessments and surveys inside Bransty Tunnel ahead of planned full track and drainage renewal that was scheduled to take place during August and September. This involved doing surveys to assess any weight limits for the heavy machinery needed for the planned renewals. These surveys uncovered some areas under the railway which need strengthening before any work can progress. After assessing the initial survey data by specialist expert engineers, Network Rail has closed Bransty Tunnel to all trains until further notice. The exact time frame for how long these repairs and subsequent track improvements will take is still being worked on.

Engineering work is taking place on the footbridge at Tackley, closing platform 2.

Trains between Glasgow Queen Street and Stirling will be diverted to run via Cumbernauld.
Glasgow Queen Street â Edinburgh (via Falkirk High):
Trains between Glasgow Queen Street and Polmont will be diverted to run via Falkirk Grahamston and Cumbernauld.
Trains will call additionally at Falkirk Grahamston and Cumbernauld.
Trains will not call at Croy or Falkirk High. For Falkirk High, you should instead use Falkirk Grahamston or use the help point for travel assistance.
Glasgow Queen Street â Stirling / Alloa:
Trains will run between Glasgow Queen Street and Stirling via Cumbernauld.
Trains will not call at Bishopbriggs, Lenzie or Croy.
A shuttle train service will run between Stirling and Alloa only.
Glasgow Queen Street â Cumbernauld:
Trains are extended to run between Glasgow Queen Street and Stirling.
Replacement buses operate as follows:
- Glasgow Queen St â Bishopbriggs â Lenzie â Croy â Cumbernauld (approximately hourly frequency all day, connecting with trains between Glasgow Queen St and Stirling / Edinburgh)
- Croy â Cumbernauld (start / end of day only, connecting with trains between Glasgow Queen Street and Edinburgh trains)
Monday:
Glasgow Queen St â Aberdeen / Inverness / Elgin:
Trains between Glasgow and Stirling will be diverted to run via Cumbernauld.
Glasgow Queen St â Edinburgh (via Falkirk High):
A half hourly train service will run all day between Glasgow Queen Street and Edinburgh.
Trains between Glasgow Queen Street and Polmont will be diverted to run via Falkirk Grahamston / Cumbernauld.
Trains will call additionally at Falkirk Grahamston, Camelon and Cumbernauld.
Trains will not call at Croy or Falkirk High. For Falkirk High, you should instead use Falkirk Grahamston or use the help point for travel assistance.
Glasgow Queen St â Cumbernauld:
Glasgow Queen St â Stirling / Alloa:
Glasgow Queen St â Perth / Dundee:
An hourly, all-stop train service operates between Glasgow, Stirling, Perth / Dundee until early evening.
From 20:00 until close of service, trains operate between Glasgow and Stirling.
A separate train service operates half hourly all day between Stirling and Alloa only.
Replacement buses operate as follows:
- Glasgow Queen Street â Bishopbriggs â Lenzie â Croy â Cumbernauld (approximately hourly all day, connecting with Glasgow Queen Street - Stirling or Edinburgh trains)
- Croy â Cumbernauld (hourly from 06:30 â 09:30 and 15:30 â 18:30, connecting with Glasgow Queen St - Edinburgh trains)
