Grand Central Unveils Best-in-Class WiFi Upgrade
Grand Central is thrilled to announce a significant upgrade to its WiFi service across its fleet of 180 Adelante trains, offering reliable, speedy internet access. The upgrade, delivered in partnership with UR Group and powered by EE, delivers high speed connectivity via the mobile network, making Grand Central’s WiFi best-in-class among rail operators.
Stay Connected whilst travelling at top speeds
This powerful upgrade allows travellers to stay online throughout long journeys. Allowing users to stay productive, browse the web, or connect with friends and family whilst on the move. It will also support fast access to Grand Central’s convenient on-board catering service and our innovative real time information portal – Journey Central.
Designed for Everyone
A fair usage policy ensures access for all passengers. The service is not intended for streaming movies, TV shows or large file downloads, meaning bandwidth will be fairly shared throughout our trains. If you want to watch a movie or TV during your journey we recommend downloading those beforehand for offline enjoyment.
When will it be available?
Following successful testing, the upgrade begins on Monday, March 11th and will be rolled out throughout Spring 2024. Please note the upgrade will mean some interruption to the current on-board Wi-Fi offering during the transition.
