The Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and driven placement student to work in our Commercial Team in York as a Yield Analyst. The successful candidate will report to the Head of Revenue and will also work closely alongside the Marketing and Customer Relations teams as well as others from the wider business.

As a Yield Analyst, you will be working within the revenue team to create, maintain and improve the yield management policies which are implemented on Grand Central train services. You will support decision making to identify revenue opportunities in response to seasonal trends and special events taking place on our routes. You will be responsible for business-wide reports which highlight the performance of our train services and you will manage demand through various management systems, with the aim of maximising ticket revenue whilst reducing the risk of overcrowded trains.


- Working towards a degree in an analytical or commercial discipline (maths, engineering, economics, business, finance)
- Skills in analysis, planning, implementation and review
- Be competent in MS Office, particularly Microsoft Excel


In return you will receive a salary of approx. £15,500 per annum and an amazing benefit of FREE first class travel on Grand Central routes, you will also receive a travel card giving you free standard class access to other Arriva train companies.
