We are looking for an enthusiastic and driven placement student to work in our Planning Team in York as a Planning and Diagramming Assistant. The successful candidate will report to the Head of Planning and will also work closely alongside the Performance team as well as others from the wider business.
As a Planning and Diagramming Assistant, you will be working within the Planning team, liaising with Network Rail on our timetable bids, working on short term and long term plans to create a rolling stock program to meet commercial specifications, develop train crew diagrams and transport arrangements. This role is a key part of creating a culture of continuous improvement at GC, identifying and implementing improvements to planning and diagramming processes and systems.
- Working towards a degree in an analytical or transport discipline (transport and logistics, engineering, economics, business, finance)
- Skills in analysis, planning, implementation and review
- Be competent in MS Office, particularly Microsoft Excel
