Grand Central has now launched its online retail site. This allows you to purchase any Grand Central or Inter-available ticket. The ticket can either be posted out, or collected from a fast ticket machine at a station of your choice. |

Click here to enjoy the benefits of printing your ticket at home or having it sent direct to your mobile phone! Don't worry if there are no tickets available, you can still purchase your tickets on the train. |

GRAND CENTRAL NEW FARES STRUCTURE From May 18th 2008 Grand Central will introduce a new simple fares structure made up of a 'Peak' and 'Off Peak' fare. The peak fare will only apply if you travel to or from London on the 0641 Sunderland - London Kings or the 1650 London Kings Cross - Sunderland. GRAND CENTRAL CARNET TICKETS Frequent Peak Time travellers can make great savings with Grand Central’s new Carnet Ticket Book of 20 single journey/10 return journey tickets for turn-up-and-go-travel. Carnet tickets are valid on peak time trains but save 15% - 30% on published Grand Central prices. Carnet tickets are valid on any Grand Central train between the station of your choice and London Kings Cross (or vice versa). Go when you like and save every time. | |
GRAND CENTRAL DEDICATED FARES EXAMPLES
Sunderland Standard Single Off Peak – was £44 falls to £35.
Hartlepool Standard Peak Return. Price unchanged at £98 but just £82 with a Grand Central Carnet.
Northallerton First Class Peak Return. Price unchanged at £182 but just £137 with a Grand Central Carnet.
York Standard Off Peak Return. Price drops from £64 to £59; the Off Peak Single falls from £39 to £34.
York Standard Peak Return. Just £76 with a Grand Central Carnet compared to old price of £94.
The Carnet Ticket Books are on sale only at Grand Central’s Ticket Office in York (0845 603 4852), but postal applications are welcome.
Standard Return to York from Sunderland is £16, whilst a Standard Single is £11.
Standard Return to York is just £6 from Northallerton or £3 from Thirsk.
Standard Return between Hartlepool & York is £12.
