Throughout April 2012 and particularly at weekends, Network Rail is undertaking engineering work on various sections of the lines between the north of England and London. This means all trains running on the affected routes will be disrupted in some way. This might only involve slightly retimed services, but in some cases could involve Grand Central passengers changing trains at Peterborough or Doncaster, with longer than normal journey times. All the details, including amended timetables are available to view and download here. We urge those of you whoa re intending to travel during April to visit this page to check the details before you travel. This disruption will also affect passengers who use other rail companies including East Coast to travel to and from London during April.

If travelling at weekends, you are strongly advised to check train times. Please check our Main Timetable Page for information on longer term engineering works. Monday 7 May 2012North East Route Due to engineering work between London Kings Cross and York the 0749 London Kings Cross to Sunderland service is cancelled.
Sunday 13 May 2012North East Route Due to engineering work between London Kings Cross and York, Northbound services will be retimed and journey times will be extended by up to 30 minutes. West Riding Route Due to engineering work between London Kings Cross and Doncaster, Northbound services will be retimed and journey times will be extended by up to 30 minutes.
Sunday 20 May 2012West Riding Route Due to engineering work between Doncaster and London Kings Cross the 1204 Bradford Interchange to London Kings Cross service is retimed to arrive in London Kings Cross three minutes later at 1458.
Sunday 27 May 2012North East Route Due to engineering work between York and London Kings Cross the 1412 Sunderland to London Kings Cross service is retimed to arrive in London Kings Cross one minute later at 1746. West Riding Route Due to engineering work between London Kings Cross and Doncaster the 1148 London Kings Cross to Bradford service is retimed between Wakefield Kirkgate and Bradford Interchange.
Sunday 3 June 2012West Riding Route Due to engineering work between Doncaster and London Kings Cross, The 0755 Bradford Interchange to London Kings Cross service and 1204 Bradford Interchange to London Kings Cross service are retimed to arrive in London Kings Cross up to 16 minutes later.
Sunday 10 June 2012North East Route Due to engineering work between York and London Kings Cross, some services are retimed. West Riding Route Due to engineering work between Doncaster and London Kings Cross, some services are retimed.
Sunday 17 & 24 June 2012North East Route Due to engineering work between York and London Kings Cross all services are retimed. Due to this engineering work some services will Start from and Terminate at Hartlepool. Replacement Road Transport will provide a connection from and onto Sunderland for the Grand Central Rail Services starting from and terminating at Hartlepool. Journey times will be extended by up to 70 minutes
West Riding Route Due to engineering work between Doncaster and London Kings Cross some services are retimed and the following services are cancelled: 0755 Bradford Interchange to London Kings Cross and 1148 London Kings Cross to Bradford Interchange. Journey times extended by up to 90 Minutes.
Saturday 30th July 2012West Riding Route Due to engineering work between Pontefract Monkhill and Doncaster all services are retimed.
Sunday 1st July 2012North East Route Due to engineering work between York and London Kings Cross, some services are retimed and the following services are cancelled: 0912 Sunderland to London Kings Cross and 0948 London Kings Cross to Sunderland. West Riding Route Due to engineering work between Doncaster and London Kings Cross some services are retimed and the following services are cancelled: 0755 Bradford Interchange to London Kings Cross and 1148 London Kings Cross to Bradford Interchange.
Saturday 7 July 2012West Riding Route Due to engineering work between Pontefract Monkhill and Doncaster some services will be unable to call at Pontefract Monkhill. A Road Replacement Bus Service will be in operation between Pontefract, Wakefield Kirkgate and Doncaster. Some services will also be retimed.
Sunday 8 July 2012North East Route Due to engineering work between York and London Kings Cross, all services are retimed.
