| Sunday 1st August Because of Network Rail engineering work Grand Central West Riding services will operate to a revised timetable and services will not call at Pontefract Monkhill. Replacement road transport will operate between Pontefract Monkhill and Wakefield Kirkgate. Download the timetable here.
Monday 2nd August 2010 The 1127 service from Kings Cross to Sunderland is very busy, passengers with Grand Central tickets, but without seat reservations may prefer to travel on the 0818 service from Kings Cross to Sunderland which currently has plenty of seating available.

For Children Children aged 5 to 15 receive a 50% discount.
For Senior Citizens People aged 60 or over are entitled to purchase the Grand Central senior fare. The senior fare provides a discount of 25% on the appropriate 'anytime' or 'off-peak' ticket. This discount is only available for passengers travelling to or from London Kings Cross. Seniors who also hold a senior railcard can get a 34% discount on all Grand Central tickets.
For Railcard Holders Railcard discounts apply to all Grand Central fares, but not to special offers.
Normally a Railcard attracts a 34% discount.
Minimum fares and / or time restrictions may apply. Please read the appropriate terms of the Railcard. When travelling with a Railcard discounted ticket please ensure you carry your railcard with you.
For Frequent Travellers Frequent travellers on Grand Central can save 25% by purchasing a Carnet book of 20 single tickets. The Carnet tickets are available to and from London on both routes in both an 'Anytime' or and 'off-peak' version. Additionally local Carnet books are available on the North Eastern route.
Tickets are flexible as they are not person specific. Consequently they can be used for group travel, or can be shared across an office.
