Throughout April 2012 and particularly at weekends, Network Rail is undertaking engineering work on various sections of the lines between the north of England and London. This means all trains running on the affected routes will be disrupted in some way. This might only involve slightly retimed services, but in some cases could involve Grand Central passengers changing trains at Peterborough or Doncaster, with longer than normal journey times. All the details, including amended timetables are available to view and download here. We urge those of you whoa re intending to travel during April to visit this page to check the details before you travel. This disruption will also affect passengers who use other rail companies including East Coast to travel to and from London during April.

Children Children aged 5 to 15 receive a 50% OFF our ticket prices. Senior Citizens We recommend that anyone over the age of 60 buys a Senior Railcard, which gives 1/3 off all rail fares. Railcard Holders Subject to the terms & conditions of the Railcard, Railcard discounts apply to all Grand Central fares but not to special offers. Normally a Railcard attracts a 34% discount. Minimum fares and / or time restrictions may apply. Please read the appropriate terms of the Railcard: When travelling with a Railcard discounted ticket please ensure you carry your Railcard with you.
Frequent Travellers Frequent travellers on Grand Central can save up to 25% by buying a carnet of 10 single tickets in advance. Carnets are available on the West Yorkshire and North Eastern routes in both 'Anytime' and 'Off Peak' versions. Having a pre-purchased carnet means you can guarantee great savings, with each single journey costing from just £30 (off-peak). Tickets are flexible and they can be used for group travel or shared across an office. Weekend First Upgrade to First Class at weekends and Bank Holidays for £15 each way (subject to seats being available). Simply take a seat and pay the upgrade fee on board. Please note: Standard Advance Purchase tickets cannot be upgraded to First class.
